Derwent Valley Wind Band and The V&A Ensemble recently joined forces in their Autumn Extravaganza concert on 2 November 2019 at Holy Trinity Church, Matlock Bath. The audience were treated to a varied programme, with Derwent Valley Wind Band playing pieces from classical to film music and the V&A Ensemble singing a number of original songs. The evening concluded with both groups performing Journey’s End, a joint piece composed especially for the concert.
Derwent Valley Wind Band is a community wind band for all ages. Under the musical direction of Russell Bevan they provide an informal but productive opportunity for adults and young people to play wind instruments. The V&A Ensemble was formed at the end of August 2017 by co-founders Vicki Clemerson and Alan Barnard. The 20 strong choir mostly sings the music that Vicki and Alan compose in four part harmony. Their Musical Director is Anne de Waal. For further information contact firstname.lastname@example.org
